Ashley Garibay Shooting Stockton CA Death Obituary: Stockton Woman Dies After Idaho In-N-Out Shooting

At 23, Ashley Garibay was building a life shaped by work, family, and the people she encountered each day. Her life was tragically cut short on August 1, 2026, when she was killed during a mass shooting at a newly opened In-N-Out Burger restaurant in Twin Falls, Idaho.

Garibay was from Stockton, California, and worked as a manager for In-N-Out. According to her family, she had traveled to Twin Falls to help train employees at the new restaurant, which had opened only days before the shooting. She was working at the restaurant when the gunman opened fire.

Her uncle confirmed her death, while family members described Ashley as a beloved daughter, sister, auntie, and friend. Friends and relatives have shared photographs and memories online as they grieve a young woman whose life ended in an act of violence she did not cause.

Three people were killed and seven others were injured in the attack. Police identified the shooter as 24-year-old Chad Williams, who died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Authorities said an off-duty Idaho State Police trooper and an armed civilian returned fire, actions investigators believe helped prevent additional casualties.

In-N-Out President Lynsi Snyder also mourned the loss, describing Garibay as one of the company’s “beautiful Associates” and expressing prayers for her family, friends and everyone affected.

Ashley Garibay’s loved ones now face the painful task of remembering a 23-year-old whose future was taken far too soon. Her memory will live on through the family and friends who knew and loved her.
